Addalyn is SIX!

My beautiful girl is SIX!  I cannot believe it.  Please time slow down!  You continue to amaze me with the little girl you are becoming.  You are so kind, AMAZING with your brother and sister, and determined.  You work your booty off and have become an amazing dancer and performer... I'm so proud of you.  I get so nervous every time you step on stage.  You set the bar high for yourself and are not comfortable with anything other than being the best.  You are able to at such a young age own the stage.  You are sassy, bold, and big.  You are beyond flexible and talented.  You are so confident and motivated, it's so cool to see.  You have taken our move to Nebraska extremely well.  You left your family, friends, and dance studio and are doing great here in Omaha.  You tried out a few different dance studios and walked in and were not shy at all.  You take care of your brother and sister so well.  Aubryn's eyes light up every time you come into the room.  You two have a special connection and you are a great role model.  Thank you for being an amazing little human.  As hard as it is to see you grow up...it's the best to see what a wonderful person you are becoming.  As you restart kindergarten at St. Patrick's this fall, please don't lose sight of the wonderful heart you have.  I love you more than you will ever know!  Smooch!

Welcome Aubryn Jane.

A lot of big changes have occurred since my last post almost a year ago!  On February 1, 2015 at 9:29AM we welcomed beautiful Aubryn Jane weighing 5 lbs, 12 Ounces.  It was quite the pregnancy.... it was really really easy the first 7 months.  Had just a little nausea, very little cravings, but did experience some bad headaches the first 20 weeks.  All was a typical pregnancy until 7 months in when I once again, started to experience the dreaded kidney stones!  After a couple of week long stints in the hospital, we thought they were pretty under control.  A few weeks passed in between when I had another round of stones.  Due the pain medicine I had to be on, they decided that it would be best for Aubryn if I delivered her at 37 weeks (just like Addalyn and Angelo).  The morning of delivery I was in a lot of pain and just didn't feel right about delivering that day.  My gut was right.  As soon as the pulled her out I knew something was not right.  I did not hear her cry, and the doctor was trying to compensate for her lack of breathing.  In the NICU... the nurses described her as "feisty".  One nurse said that in her 15 years as a NICU nurse, she was the feistiest baby she had ever seen!  We are going to be in for it with this one!

My sweet baby was wisked away with about 12 doctors and nurses to the NICU.  They think her lungs were not quite mature enough or that the pain medicine I had been on made her lazy in taking her on breaths.  She spent 10 days in the NICU which were just heart breaking for daddy and I.  We had to leave the hospital without her which was one of the hardest things to do.  We took turns day and night going up to the hospital and were elated on February 11th when Aubryn was finally discharged and could meet her anxious sister and brother!

Now our big girl just turned 8 weeks.  She absolutely perfect in every way!  At her one month check up she weighed in at 8 lbs, 4 ounces.  She has been a great sleeper and a wonderful eater!  We can hardly keep Angelo and Addalyn away from her.  They have been wonderful helpers and so sweet with her.  She has already lived in 2 states (Kansas/Nebraska) in her short 8 weeks.  We are so lucky to call her ours!

Letter to my THREE year old Angelo.

To my handsome three year old boy,

You are three.... and you are ALL boy!  This last year you have really come into your own.  Your personality is huge and you are goofy, REALLY clumsy, into everything, and always have a car/truck/ball/superhero in your hand.  When I say you are clumsy, I mean real clumsy.  Your sister never had one incident report in two years of going to school...you had a couple each week.  Your teachers said we need to bubble wrap you!
When you talk you are so animated.  You have the cutest lisp and drag out your S when you talk.  If we don't answer you on the first time you will say, "Mom, Mom, KRISTYN"!!  It cracks me up.
You love to eat.  We rarely find something that you won't consume.  I have a feeling we are going to go broke one day feeding you.  You can easily occupy yourself and play great independently.  You can sit and play trucks and cars for hours.  You are so smart, I love watching you play.  You are so technical and when you play, you can see that the wheels are turning and you are trying to figure out how things work.  You love numbers, letters, books, and school.  You do not get your feelings hurt very easy, I think you are bull headed enough things slide right off of you!
You recently have started saying "I love you" randomly and will tell me I'm pretty on your own from time to time.  You are the type of person that when you say, "love you" or give a hug it means something.  You are not very emotional or cuddly so when you do something sweet, it is the best thing!  People always compliment how beautiful your bright blue eyes are.  Those eyes.  They are gorgeous, vibrant, and a look into your soul.  I can see the ornery and the sweetness in you through those eyes.  They are one of my favorite things in the whole wide world.
This past year you had your tonsils, adenoids, and nasal cavity shaved.  In one word, it really sucked!  You were not yourself and didn't feel well for at least 3 weeks.  You no longer snore or breath heavy when you sleep... and your tonsils no longer "kiss" in the back of your throat.  Throughout the process you still had a big smile on your face, used your manners in the hospital, and were a trooper.  You are so tough.
I love watching you and your dad together.... you guys are best buddies.  You love your dad so much and are so happy by his side.  You light up our home and lives.  I'm so proud to see you growing into the little man that you are.  Love you so much Angelo!

Three year old Stats:
Height:  You grew 4.5 inches this past year!
Weight:  45 pounds
Eyes:  Sky light blue
Hair: Spikey, light brown
Favorite Things: Ninja Turtles, Batman, Cars, Trucks, Spiderman
Favorite Movie: Cars
Favorite Food: ANYTHING!  Nuggets, pizza, eggs, donuts, muffins
Favorite Sayings: "Come on", "NO", "Almost, one minute?", "Can I have some snacksss"

Letter to my FIVE year old Addalyn.

To my beautiful five year old,

WOW.... I cannot believe you are five.  Your first birthday was a tough one and five is another rough one because it marks you getting ready for a new adventure in heading off to school.  It's so funny, when I was in the trenches of those first months that you were a newborn being sleep deprived, learning what it was like to take care of a REAL human.... five seemed like an eternity away.  I remember my co-worker had a son that was going to kindergarten right after you were born and him saying, "this will you before you know it".... but I didn't believe him.
Now here we are.  You have grown into the coolest person I know.  You are sassy but not in a bratty way, in a way which shouts your personality and gives way to the confidence within yourself that you have.  YOU.CRACK.ME.UP.  You are so funny, goofy, loving, and caring all wrapped in to one.  I love watching you dance.  Everytime I watch you I get a little teary eyed, not because I'm sad, but SO proud (or your faces are so stinking funny or you are shaking your booty so hard that I'm laughing so hard my eyes tear).  You really still are not to big into school... you have other things you want to see and do.  This is something that we are going to have to work on this year.  Being social and making people laugh is more your thing.  You are so creative, numbers and letters just aren't on your radar!  You also make up the funniest songs.... you are constantly singing... it's a little shaky at the moment but the words are what is the best part!  You sing the randomest things and you sing VERY loud...love it.
You are beyond caring.  You are very sensitive and make sure to take care of your brother, the dogs, your friends.  You are great about cleaning, using your manners, and (most of the time) doing the right things.

Right now you have such an interest in heaven and have lots of questions about it.  I love how your catholic preschool has already sparked a spiritual interest in you.  The other day you were asking me about heaven and what people do up there all day.  I told you I was not sure but it was magical what ever it is.... you told me you can't wait to go and that you are going to drink coffee
alllllll day long!
Happy 5th Birthday!  I love you so much and cannot wait to see what this year brings.
Love you most!

Addalyn and Angelo recently celebrated their 1st and 3rd birthday.  To say time flies would be an understatement.  So much has changed in the last year.  Feel so lucky each and every day for our family and amazing friends.

Addalyn has become an actual "kid".  She is funny, goofy, and never fails to amaze me with her heart and old soul.  Just today she said, "Please help me get dressed, baby".  Her favorite dance is her, "I'm shaking my booty dance."  She loves to sing, dance, and entertain us.  She is so good with her brother and they constantly are making each other laugh.  I still can't believe that she hasn't displayed jealousy AT ALL this year.  She is really starting to get into Barbies and babies.  My heart melts watching her get older and wiser.  Love that little girl!

Angelo, Angelo, Angelo.  What can I say!!??!?  We are so happy to have you as a part of our family.  You are the happiest, cheesiest little guy!  It never fails that we walk into your room and you greet us with the biggest smile.  I could just eat your cheeks because you are so stinking cute.  You started to walk right at 1 and have a huge mouthful of teeth!  At your one year appointment you weighed in at 26 lbs (90th Percentile).  You are a big boy to say the least.  You love your sister so much... you laugh at any and everything she does.  I'm guessing that will change this year.... but I love watching her make you laugh!  I still LOVE that your first word was, "Mama".  You still aren't saying, "Dada" tooooo much.  GOOD BOY!  You have grown SOOO much this past year.  We can't wait to watch you grow this year and start to see your personality really come through!  Love love you!

We had a big western birthday party to celebrate filled with LOTS of amazing friends and family!  Uncle Andrew even surprised the kids with two pony's!  What a great uncle!  So much love at the party!  So happy that so many people could help celebrate our two favorite kiddos!

Addalyn's First Dance Class!

Such a BIG day for Addalyn (OK, MOM).  Addalyn had her very first dance class and did great.  As she was walking off she said, "BYE, MOMMY!"  So adorable!  She got ready with her friend Macy and had class with her other friend Kylee.  She is growing up so fast and it is so darn fun.  Love you Addalyn!  Thanks for making my day!
